Workshop details below:

Encaustic card making workshop

Max 4 people, £35pp 2 1/2   hours including all materials and use of tools and refreshments.

  • Learn the basics of encaustic ironworks; use a low temperature iron and a heated stylus and scraper tools to paint with hot pigmented wax. 
  • Experiment with loading the iron with coloured wax and passing it gently over the paper to make backgrounds, then using the iron in different ways to add patterns and shapes.
  • Use the stylus like a hot pen to add lines and dots of wax and then scrape away wax to add detail and contrast.
  • Different styles and effects demonstrated and plenty of time (and encaustic card) to experiment with.

  


Alcohol inks Workshop

2 hours. £35pp including refreshments. Max 4

  •         Learn the fundamentals of using alcohol inks and go with the flow.
  •         Experiment with how these vivid inks can be moved around a smooth surface such as synthetic paper and wall tiles.
  •         Make an A4 piece and put in a mount (provided) which will be ready to take home and frame.

Dates available on request including evenings and weekends. Minimum 2 people. Suitable for over 11s.


  


 Cyanotype Workshop

(on request - during the winter months these can still be run but it is often difficult to use the natural sunlight to expose the photograms and prints. I have UV lights for doing this indoors.)

 2 1/2 hours. £35pp including refreshments. Max 4

  •        Introduction to cyanotype (blueprinting or sun-printing) Coating cards with cyanotype solution.
  •        Making photograms with pre-coated cards using natural and made objects and exposing then in the sun (or under UV lamp) Rinsing and allowing to dry.
  •        Making photograms using your made coated card, natural and made objects, stencils and/or printed digital negatives.

Dates available on request, including  weekends. Minimum 2 people. Suitable for children and adults.
